Dress: [c/o] Grace Cooper | Shoes: Similar | Bag: Phillip Lim | Bracelet: [c/o]Amy Fine Design | Sunglasses: Nordstrom
I almost live tweeted the attire of a wedding I attend with my boyfriend a few months ago. Seriously. And then I thought, “Eh…I’m sitting in the house of the Lord…maybe later.” And not in an, “Oh I’m being snarky way.” I just didn’t understand the attire for the wedding. I needed some validation my high-low dress worked.
The attire was vast, very vast. Some looks were a bit Magic Mike and others were more, “I thought I was going to Chili’s and then I showed up at a church.”
And I don’t blame any of these girls! Being a plus 1 is hard. No guy says, “Hi! We have a wedding September 25th and it is at 6 p.m. and is black tie. All of my other friends’ dates are wearing floor-length BCBG if that helps.” But oh I wish they would.
My secret? Stick to a neutral! Grey is the color for fall, and this dress from Grace Cooper is perfect. Don’t want to look boring? Add color in your accessories. I went with a pair of heels that look like I highlighted my feet. Typical.
Stick to a stunning piece of jewelry and a conservative cut dress. My new Amy Fine Design bracelet [the black one with the stone!] is the perfect amount of sparkle without being overbearing. I want to get all of the stone colors for a perfect stack!
So for your fall weddings think: grey dress, stunning stack, bright heels. And even if you don’t catch the bouquet you’ll win best dressed [besides the bride, of course!] and that is probably more exciting, anyways!
