I’m on my flight back from NYC to Dallas and what a whirlwind this weekend was! I can’t wait to fill you in on what I saw and all the fun projects Chronicles of Frivolity has going on for 2015. To start, I found out that I was nominated as a top 10 Better Homes & Gardens blogger. Umm what?! Voting is over the next 6 weeks, but if you want to you can vote now! Now on to the fun stuff: face paint. I find that when shooting, I never really have a difficult time picking a heavier foundation. It’s not a struggle to walk in Sephora and come out with medium-full coverage anything. The makeup I am always searching for is a light foundation. I want something for my face on days I’m working from home, running errands or just having brunch with my girlfriends. I don’t want to go Little House on the Prairie natural, but I certainly don’t want to risk clogging my entire face for a Target run.
I’ve shared that Bare Minerals is a favorite of mine for this reason, and recently they came out with the icing to the natural look cake. Complexion Rescue is a tinted moisturizer that is based on water. I actually met with the team this past weekend and they explained the chemistry of it, but I zoned out 9th grade Chem, so we can now, too. Essentially most makeup is surrounded by oil. That’s not a bad thing, it just means that for the moisture to permeate your skin it takes a while. This makeup is based around water and so after wearing it for a few days your skin’s moisture is increased by 200%. Your skin looks plump and full, while remaining covered.
Let me preface this by saying, this isn’t a heavy duty foundation. Think of a BB or CC cream that isn’t cakey. It’s buildable, but never strong. If you like a full-coverage face every day stick to their normal foundation. Moisture is key to 99% of skin issues. Break out? It’s because your body is trying to overproduce moisture because it is lacking. Dry skin? Moisture. Duh. Fine lines? Your skin is thirsty. Water it!
If I’m going to wear makeup when I’m not shooting [Which let’s be honest, I’m from Texas. I’m not leaving my house without my face.] I want my skin to be corrected while I’m wearing it. This makeup does just that. I’ve worn it for a full 3 weeks now and it’s definitely a product that anyone from your little sister to mother can benefit from.

I used to use Bare Minerals and got my mom and both sisters hooked and then switched right before all these new products launched! Played with the Complexion Rescue this week in Sephora and can’t wait to run out of what I’m currently using to see if I like this as much as I think I will! Great find!
