Happy Sunday! Today is our engagement party and I could not be more excited. Having some of our best friends come in town to celebrate with us is like Christmas times 10. 

You might have seen on my Instagram that my Nana flew in to surprise me to go dress shopping on Friday! I had no idea and there were lots of tears so by the time I got to the dress shop I definitely had a raccoon mascara effect going on. And I freaked out for nothing. #Typical. When you know, you know. I tried on a few and put the dress I ended up getting on, walked out and felt like I was giggling in middle school. You just get this sense of excitement and I practiced making sure I could dance [I’m sure the dress shop thought I was crazy] and I said, “Yep! This is it!” I went to De Ma Fille in Fort Worth and if you live in DFW and are getting married I recommend going to them first! So many places have a lot of rules. I.E. you can’t take photos of dresses and you can only bring three people. But if you are going to spend thousands of dollars on a dress and can’t bring your dad or take pictures that’s ridiculous. Taking photos of my dress was a huge factor in knowing it was the right one. De Ma Fille had no problems with anything and they were so sweet to let me and all my girlfriends pull whatever we liked. I had quite a few people with me [I’m Swedish and can be really indecisive sometimes!] and they were so accommodating to everyone. 

Yesterday we took our engagement pictures and I want to do it all over again! Paul is always shooting me so I had no idea how he would be when we took photos together. I’m marrying a champ. We shot for almost 5 hours and he never once complained. We got to shoot with some baby goats [the CUTEST little babies ever!] and he is officially titled the goat whisperer. He got her so calm that I was like a toddler when the sun was setting and they had to take her from me. Almost had some tears. Almost.

And I should probably stop having girl talk with you all. [I do this like once every few weeks and forget you actually want to know about the clothes! haha] I picked up this skirt the week before fashion week, and while it would probably handle a spray tan, it has been such a fun, flirty piece. During fashion week I also borrowed my friend’s sunglasses, loved them so much and paid for Go-Go In Flight to purchase them on the trip home. I don’t know who would be so financially irresponsible as to do that….but I think I’m guilty…

Lastly, I’ve become a statement earring girl overnight. All I ever want to do is wear big earrings and not fuss with bracelets. I guess my wrists finally got tired…These from Accessory Concierge have me so excited for summer with their mermaid hues. I’ve literally been referring them to Paul has my mermaid earrings. “Hey babe, will you make sure my mermaid earrings are in my bag?” Why he is marrying me is beyond me…
