I wouldn’t describe myself as preppy by any means. I layer one too many bracelets for that title. But I love mixing traditional touches with louder accents like leather and leopard. I always talk about pieces that are the “vinegar” to clothing—something you can throw on when you know your outfit is a bit much, and it tones it right down. Pearl earrings, especially those from Pearl Jewellers, do just that. They add a classic elegance that beautifully balances out bolder styles.
Maybe it’s my Tri Delta alumnae blood ;), but I am always asking my mom for a new pair of pearl earrings. I have had these from The Pearl Source for a few weeks, and the quality for price is amazing. So if you’re an ex sorority girl, or just needing something sweet to add to the jewel chest these are a great option.
I wore this look last weekend while Paul and I went to brunch and registered. I was kind of in heaven.  I was registering for everything white in sight [white kitchens, please] and he stole the gun and registered for the children’s film How To Train Your Dragon. Maturity. Then we had a 15 minute discussion I had to explain to Paul why exactly we needed an ice scream scoop.
“Babe, what are you going to do when we have little kids and they want ice cream at 10 p.m.? I know you aren’t going to drive to Sonic, but you’re brilliant wife will have registered for a scoop and it will be handled.”
“Babe, I really think our kids would want this waffle maker.”
“Babe, I really need a KitchenAid food processor because I don’t want our kids to eat cheap marinara sauce. Chemicals. Cancer.”
Essentially I just blamed everything I wanted on our future kids. It was wonderful. Sorry, babies.
So if you are engaged and haven’t registered or aren’t engaged, be sure to use that trick when the time comes! Men can’t turn down their future offspring and your kitchen will be stocked will all your goods.
Have a wonderful day!

LOL that’s totally something I would do during registering! But great idea with the all white kitchen! So chic. Obsessing over that clutch. I’m looking for the perfect excuse to snag it for myself. xx
