Today we are shooting our home for a fun little surprise that I can’t wait to share! So I spent the weekend tidying up and putting away winter pieces and bringing spring statements forward! Pink, blues and cognac always remind me of spring and I thought it would be fun to do a post with all of them on sale! Each of these pieces would perk up any part of your wardrobe and prep for cooler temps.

I would pair the top and skirt together for anything from a date night to a concert or even bridal shower! And how cute are these lip earrings?! I always stock up on statement earrings, but I definitely neglect stud earrings. I seriously just have some pearl studs. Talk about two polar opposites. “Katey, you can wear pearls or you can wear 14 pound rhinestones on your ears.” Take ya pick!

On a completely different note, I wanted to share my church’s sermon from Sunday. You know those sermons that you sit and think, “Wait! This is over?! No! This is such good truth!” This was definitely one of those sermons. It’s titled “Why Are We Ashamed?” And it talks about being ashamed of sharing your faith. I know it can be so hard living in the south, because religion is talked about pretty prevalently here. It can be incredibly easy to think, “Wait, do I bring up my church to her? She has totally heard of it. She knows I go. We live in Texas! Everyone talks about church here!” But that isn’t the point. It can also be so hard when people have a rebuttal. Sometimes that fear comes up in our head and you think, “What if they want to argue? What if they don’t believe in creation?” And that isn’t the point either. This sermon covers all of that and sitting there I just felt the need to share it with anyone who wanted to listen to a message or struggles with this!

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday and I can’t wait to share this shoot with you all!

  2. Well, just to let you know I’m not a Christian and I’m definitely not looking for an argument. You have your beliefs and I have mine. I love your fashion style and that’s all that matters. 🙂

  8. I am definitely going to be listening to that sermon! I hate confrontation (why can’t we all just get along?!) so I am definitely in that camp that stays more quiet unless I am around people who share similar beliefs. I think this sermon will be really enlightening and applicable!

Crazy but my pastor did the SAME sermon this weekend about shame and hiding your faith and I LOVED it!!!!! It was so moving and passionate and I walked out of the service feeling so refreshed. Sometimes they just really hit the nail on the head and speak exactly what you didn’t know you needed to hear. Can’t wait to listen to yours after work. Can’t get enough of that message!!

    Hi Katey!

I know it’s difficult, but try not to fear confrontation and a conversation challenging/questioning your beliefs. I’m an atheist and it’s just as hard on this side of the fence, let me tell ya! In general, there is too much anti-(fill in the blank) rhetoric! (Somewhere along the way, people forgot that it’s ok to have different beliefs. This is supposed to be a melting pot!) Confrontation carries a negative stigma, but it really shouldn’t. Through challenge there is discovery – be it that your beliefs remain the same, or change. I often find myself in an existential or spiritual discussion with someone. While for me, my non-belief in God remains true; the outcome of the discussion may not be the same for the person I’m speaking to. And they have every right to discover their truth for themselves. All that to say – your beliefs are your own. They’re YOUR truth. Our beliefs are a culmination of our human experience. And only you have walked in your own shoes, so no one else can tell you that your experience is wrong! So from an atheist to a Christian, live YOUR life the way you want, believe what you feel is true to you, and speak what’s on your mind. If someone doesn’t accept you as a result, they’re probably not a person you want to know anyway!

And, of course, thanks for the cute sale picks too 😉
