With spring cleaning in full swing, I always like to take it one step further. I love to rearrange little spaces that are in our home just to make older items feel fresh and new! One of my friends, Kara Stout, and I were talking about ways to style a dresser. We thought it was something every girl would have in her room. And whether you own a home, live with roommates or are still in college, you need your dresser to serve a certain purpose. We came up with four unique styles that would fit your lifestyle and things you probably already own!
I had so much fun styling this post with Kara! She is actually a nutritionist that helped me with the Mermaid Diet. If you love health, wellness and an Anthropologie-esque style be sure to see her blog here!
First things first, think of what you want most out of your dresser. Are you married and need it to serve as a catchall for you and your spouse? Paul is constantly throwing his wallet, keys, hat and golf tees [why do men always have those on hand?!] around the house. A stylish catchall makes it functional for him and aesthetically pleasing for her. Are you an entertainer with a loft-style apartment? An Easy Entertaining dresser can hold your champagne bottles if you have no room for a bart cart with your record player and art. Stylish Storage on your dresser is one of the most purposeful ways to style your dresser. If you don’t want your shoes on the floor you can neatly stack them on top of magazines and books. You can keep belts, accessories and scarves wrapped up in the shoe boxes which can double as storage and decor. If you’re a girly girl, I suggest a Vogueish Vanity. Organize your GLAMbox, top with a few coffee table books and style fresh flowers on top. You can easily stack magazines and place perfumes on top so you don’t have to find another tray. Lastly, all my small-closet girls, this one is for you!
Next, you’ll want to round up items that serve whatever dresser you choose. I’d gather more than you think you need because you’ll want to play around and see what fits your aesthetic best. I love neutral tones with pops of pink, but you may love preppy blues and greens. In order to highlight what fits your style gather up the goods!
I’ve listed out what you need and links to my favorites. Most of my items above are old, sold out or were unique pieces off etsy! I’ve shared what is in stock and available along with my favorites.

Oh my goodness, it’s so true! My husband always has the misc. items that either end up on a dresser, end table, or coffee table LOL! These are great ideas and a nice variety for different tastes. I especially love the jewelry bowls selection! Beautiful. Thanks for sharing 🙂 -xx Anna
