Here’s a little number I picked up from the Shopbop sale a few weeks ago! I had owned a few Mara Hoffman swimwear options, but never any dresses. The buttons were perfect for nursing and the color pattern was different from anything I had in my closet. I’m now a Mara Hoffman convert! Her items are SO incredibly breathable which is a necessity in Texas humidity and heat. This dress feels just right for a beach vacation, but her items also really remind me of a beach wedding. I know beach weddings can be tricky because you want something that won’t feel sticky with sand/humidity on it and her dresses would be amazing for that. I wore this to the blogging conference two weeks ago on the first night. They had a rooftop pool party and it was extremely warm, so I was thankful I had on something so breathable even with it being black!
Now we don’t have any beach vacations planned, we actually just cancelled one! We were going to Punta Mita in September, but some personal plans coincided and we had to cancel. We aren’t too upset about it as the personal plans are much more exciting but we are hoping we can go next year. Here’s a funny little story about that trip we had planned! We were going for our anniversary and the rooms are open to the beach so you just walk out on the ocean, it was really romantic! Paul called the hotel and asked if we could have dinner on the patio in our room on our actual anniversary. They said that was great and they could set it up. They went ahead and sent him a bill so he could just see what it would cost. Y’all. It was TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS for dinner in our room WITHOUT any wine. Wine was an additional $400 a person. We both died laughing and said, “We can eat anywhere BUT our room for that price.” I mean never in my life have I imagined that we could somehow manage to have a $2,000 dinner for two. Paul cancelled that plan quickly! So if you are headed to a beach wedding or a beach vacation anytime soon please let me know in the comments so I can vicariously live through you! 😉
Love the side slit of the dress. It’s such a unique one!

Haha! We went to Punta Mita last August and stayed a few nights at the Four Seasons and a few at the St. Regis. They are both stunning properties, but I hear you on the overpricing! I briefly considered some sort of private dinner or spa service and rejected it real quick once I saw the prices.
You’ll have to bring this dress when you reschedule your vacay! I love it for a beach getaway!
Lovely dress!! I’m stocking up on beach attire. I leave in three weeks for anniversary trip to Riviera Maya. I just love a beach getaway…can’t wait to drink something fruity on the beach!!
We’re headed there as well……….Heaven On Earth!!! ENJOY!!!
Headed to Mexico in one month. Guuurlllll………they ONLY way to do these beach vacays is to book the All-Inclusive options!!! Room service everyday……special dinners served on the patio…….good wines and liquor…….without forking over ANY additional money!!! It’s truly the way to go…..you just gotta do your reseach and read reviews. We’re kinda food and wine snobs…..but we’ve had GREAT experiences all over!!! Love your Blog!!! And love Ft. Worth.
I absolutely love that dress on you. It actually looks like you are on a beach vacation especially with that pink house in the background. Perfect for Summer.
