Sometimes I feel like we categorize wrap dresses one of two ways: you either wear them in a lady-like fashion to a bridal shower or you wear a professional one to work. I mix prints. I mix lipsticks. I mix the rules. I think wrap dresses can also be a little sassy, too!
Topping a wrap-dress with a blazer is going to “toughen” up the look {and clearly I use that term loosely as I’ve got on a pink blazer!} since you are adding a level of structure that a wrap dress doesn’t inherently have. Then a pair of white sneakers relaxes the outfit and gives it major city vibes.
I personally love the juxtaposition that the floral prints have with the sneakers. This may not feel like weekend wear to you, but who says you always have to wear denim and a cute top?! This is just as easy and comfortable. In fact, I think it’s easier because I’m not having to worry, “Okay, can I wear a flowy top AND boyfriend jeans or does that look a bit sloppy?!” Toss your hair up in a ponytail with this and you’ve got effortless written across your forehead.
The one I’m wearing is by Veronica Beard [one of my fave designers] and this blazer is a restyle from last fall! Here are a few other options I love at various price points for you to peruse!
What’s on your agenda for the day?! I’m going to *attempt* to take Maxi on a picnic. It could be a major fail, you just never know over here in toddler land. I had quite the mom fail yesterday that I thought I’d share! So my closet is connected to our bathroom. I keep a little bin in the bathroom filled with toys for Maxi so she can play while I get ready. I step into my closet and I see Maxi sitting like a quiet little angel. I think, “Amazing- I can actually take a few minutes to think about what I’m going to wear!”
My Shopbop sale order had come in so I had the box in my closet and I’m just trying on the clothes to see if I could wear something from that. Not even a minute later I realize it is very quiet. I look out the closet and Maxi is sitting there with my Tarte Shape Tape concealer. I guess it had fallen off of the counter when I did my makeup and rolled on the floor somewhere. She had unscrewed it and PAINTED the marble floors and her pajamas. She also painted the rug, but that’s neither here nor there. Do you know how long I had to bathe that little girl to get the stuff off her cuticles?! Tarte Shape Tape does NOT play around. It was totally my fault and I had to laugh, but she’s quite the girly girl. We ran to Sephora last night to get more concealer and Paul was like, “Isn’t this a sign you should get a different kind?“
Ummmm….no?!
ha!
I hope you all are having a fabulous week, thank you so much for being here for a few minutes with me!
I usually don’t wear wrap dresses, they’re too girly for my tastes! But I love how you paired yours with sneakers. Such a cute and casual look! 🙂

This dress looks so cute with sneakers! I would have never thought to pair those two together. And I love the pop of pink!

I almost spit out my wine reading about sweet Maxi (my little one is down for the night and husband is watching playoffs so mom is reading COF and enjoying winding down). Love your blog! Thanks for sharing your little one with us.
