A few weeks ago, Paul and I got to sneak away for a weekend in Nashville. We used this time to celebrate our anniversary and his birthday as a little 2-in-1 weekend. I’d been to Nashville before, but not in years and so I was excited to just have a casual weekend with my husband and absolutely no sort of schedule! We chose Nashville for three reasons: the short flight, the food, and the fabulous spot we wanted to stay at. Y’all know my girlfriend, Diana, and how she is a travel writer. She was so sweet and made a little itinerary for us and so I wanted to share her recommendations and our schedule with you all. Why?! Because one COF winner is going to win a stay at HOTELette! I’ve been dying to share this giveaway an am so happy today is the day! Stay tuned for that on Instagram. 😉
I always forget just how nice weekend trips are. You’re there long enough to really get a taste for the city and people, but you don’t stay too long to where you’re thrown off when you get back home with work.
Eat
Day 1
We had an early morning flight, so we got in, headed to our AIRbnb, and then went straight to lunch.
Lunch at Butcher & Bee
This is a sandwich-focused menu that supports local farmers. We started with the Whipped Feta Spread to share and then I got the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich {a little spicy, but I loved it!}, and Paul got the Bear Creek Burger.
We grabbed a cronut at Five Daughter’s Bakery in between lunch and dinner.
Dinner at Lockeland Table
This community kitchen is in East Nashville closet to HOTELette and Diana says this is one of the top meals she’s ever eaten. I totally see why! It’s a relaxed spot with an incredible menu. I got their pizza special that evening- it was Hawaiin something and so good! The cocktails were also super refreshing and the perfect amount of sweetness. After this, you can walk across the street to get post-dinner cocktails at Urban Cowboy’s Public House.
Day 2
Brunch at Le Sel
A French spot with beignets and pink interiors- naturally, my favorite meal of the trip. They also have a cocktail called “Essential Frivolity” so you know I had to try that! 😉
Tacos at Bartaco
We had a later dinner, so we grabbed a few tacos to share around 4 pm. We have a Bartaco here in Fort Worth and go there all the time. Our server here was so nice! He was actually from Austin, TX so we had a lot to talk about!
Dinner at Henrietta Red
In my mind, Kristin Cavallari goes here on date nights. That’s probably an odd description, but all I could think was, “I bet she loves this place.” It’s a gorgeous restaurant, but make note that our dinner was pretty long here. I would plan accordibly if you want to do something after. We loved everything we ate.
Day 3
Breakfast
Grab a biscuit at Biscuit Love before the airport. There will be a small line, but it moves pretty well! If you have time for brunch, she recommended Husk. We also loved Ugly Mugs for coffee!
Stay
Okay, let’s talk about where we stayed, HOTELette. HOTELette is a collection of design-centric, luxury Airbnbs with locations in Nashville, Austin, and Dallas. They’ve been featured in publications like Domino and for good reason. They were designed by Allison Crawford, an interior designer that has mastered a modern eclectic style. They invited me to come out, shoot the space, AND offer a trip for my readers! I’ll be sharing more about that on Instagram later today, so stay tuned!
So why did I want to stay at HOTElette? I geek out over interiors. I just do. Being a luxury Airbnb, it was like staying in your own version of a Pinterest design board. This house is a renovated Craftsman style home and it sleeps 11 guests {hello, bachelorette party!}, but the comfort of it made this trip seem more staycation, which I appreciated. I loved that we could sit on the porch with our morning coffee, play records in the parlor, and read in the pink room-You know that was my fave!

We didn’t do all of these things, but this is a mix of what we did and what my sweet Nashville friend, Karis, recommended! Check out her blog here.
- Bowling at Pinewood Social
- Touring Country Music Hall of Fame
- Drive to Franklin: We went here and went to some antique shops and looked at beautiful homes.
- Shopping at 12 South: Vinnie Louise, Judith Bright {wanted a bracelet here so badly!}, White’s Mercantile, Ceri Hoover, Draper James
- More shops to browse: Uncommon James, Lemon Laine, Plaid Rabbit
- Amelia’s Flower Truck was a spot we saw quite often and a fun place to get an Instagram pic!
- Poppy and Monroe for natural manicures
Hotelette also has an amazing city guide here.
I know this definitely doesn’t cover all the fabulous spots Nashville has to offer, but it kept us busy and allowed us to enjoy our stay. But if I’m missing any other questions you had on our stay, please let me know. Be sure to check in on my Instagram throughout the day so you can enter when the giveaway goes live.
Amazing post, Nashville looks like such a great weekend getaway! The spots you introduced are so photogenic too, I’m in love! 😀

We just moved to Franklin last month and just adore it! 12 south is also the cutest area. Last year when we came up for a weekend trip, we discovered a cute little area near Bar Taco that was a “pumpkin patch” (not on the vines just a ton of pumpkins). Omg it looked like something out of a Hallmark movie at night with the pumpkins galore and string lights and an old truck decorated with hay and pumpkins. Def a must do if you’re ever back in October! I am excited to see it at Christmas with the trees and string lights. All the heart eyes! I will have to check Hotellete out for a staycation weekend!
It looked like you two had such a great time in Nashville and the place you stayed looks AMAZINGGGGG.
We love a good weekend trip and haven’t been to Nashville in years since we went with my in-laws so we throw the idea around quite often. It’s such a quick flight from Dallas which would make it so easy. Definitely bookmarking these recommendations!
