I had first seen THE Topshop plaid coat on a friend’s fall fashion roundup. Then, I saw it in a few try-on hauls. It was like the coat kept finding me. Plaid and leopard are major print trends for fall and winter this year, but I typically fall on the leopard side. I love plaid, but don’t always love the colors in plaid prints. But this one was so different. So creamy. So neutral. So chic. I slept on the idea for at least a month and kept coming back to the idea.

While I bought this coat for dressier options this winter I have paired it with sweater dresses like above as a great daily option. It is longer {I’m 5’3″} so make note of that, but that makes it perfect to wear with dresses, tights, and really cold weather. It would also be my pick for workwear outwear. Now if you are looking for workwear, don’t skip Topshop at Nordstrom. They have cozy knits and great coats, but they are known for incredible business casual pieces. So ladies, if you are in the market for a timeless coat that feels different than your average camel wrap, try this one! It is definitely a fashion stretch for what I typically gravitate towards, but still feels safe as it has such a classic cut and feel.
