During this sale, I usually restock my beauty favorites. If you want to see most of my Sephora favorites, you want to check out THIS blog post. I did want to include what I picked up during my Sephora run on Sunday, as not everything is in that post, but most are tried & true favorites from the past few years.
My Purchases
- Hourglass Ethereal Light Powder: The Ambient Lighting Powder in “Ethereal Light” by Hourglass is a sheer, cool powder that I have used for years. It is one of my most repeat-purchase makeup items as it sets undereye concealer better than anything. It doesn’t settle in fine lines, and it diffuses light off your face so you get this beautiful glowing look. It isn’t shimmery, it is just soft.
- Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude Liner: I’m always raving about MAC Soar liner, but when it comes to a nude lip pencil, CT’s “Iconic Nude” is my absolute favorite. This is a repeat purchase and looks absolutely perfect with her signature Kim K.W. nude lipstick.
- Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Medium liner: At first swatch, this looks nearly identical to Iconic Nude, but let me assure you, I just needed both. 😉 Ha! This has more of a pink, mauve undertone and I love her liners so much I had to repurchase this. This is also a great liner to fill in your entire lip if you want that “your lips, but better” shade.
- Laura Mercier Lipstick in Ruthless: When it comes to “stick” makeup {lips, eyes, etc.} Laura Mercier does it best. I had this matte lipstick ages ago and had to grab it again. Fill your entire lip in with the Pillow Talk Medium liner, and then top it with this. It’s the perfect pinky-nude shade.
- Laura Mercier Eye Stick in Vanilla Kiss: Her Vanilla Kiss eye stick is a cross between a MAC Paint Pot, a concealer, and an eyeshadow all in one. While I have probably repurchased this eye stick in ‘Amethyst” the most {a gorgeous smokey eye look!} I repurchased Vanilla Sky to neutralize the eye for an everyday look. It’s also great as a base because it helps even your skin tone and then your eyeshadow you place on top shows the true shade. But for everyday use, I’ll just add a big of this on the lid, blend with my ring finger, and then apply my liner.
- Laura Mercier Gloss in Azalea: One of my favorite hacks for giving the appearance of a fuller pout? Get a light gloss {you can do light nude or bubblegum pink} and dab it in the center of your pout- not all over! This gives a really brightened effect to your lipstick and I do it daily. Laura Mercier gloss in Azalea is one of my favorite glosses to achieve this look.
- Charlotte Tilbury Brow Cheat in Taupe: This was my first time purchasing this product, and I wasn’t totally sure if I’d be keen on the pencil or not. It’s a very fine-tip pencil, but I actually loved it! It mimicked hair so well and my brows looked very full once finished.
- Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Setting Spray: I purchased this as I heard it had an ingredient that helped blur the appearance of pores, so I thought it would be perfect for a hot and humid Texas summer. I tried it yesterday while applying makeup and so far, I loved it. It gives a soft, finish and smells incredible.
- Gisou Hair Oil: I always steal this {and the perfume} while at my sister’s house, so I picked up a mini one for myself.
My Makeup Routine
Tom Ford on Top, competitor on bottom
- Foundation: It Cosmetics CC Cream Illumination in “Light” is the foundation I always wear! You’ve seen this a lot in makeup tutorials, but I did want to mention you can grab it on sale, as well.
- Eyeliner: If you could only buy one thing from the sale, let this be it! No other liner compares and I fear if they ever stop making it there is nothing I could buy to replace it. ha. This is the Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen and it makes liquid liner the easiest thing to do. I’ve included my comparison swatch of this compared to a “competing” product. I know the price is steep, but I only have to purchase this once or twice a year.
- Concealer: This concealer doesn’t get raved about like Shape Tape, but I find this to have the same pigmentation but it is far more hydrating. I always have a backstock of this, because when I use anything different I feel like I look far more tired. I use it for my undereye area in shade 1.
- Contour: Another makeup item I always repurchase, is this contour kit from Charlotte Tilbury. If you want to try it, grab it in the mini size here.
- Cream Blush: My favorite cream blush is Jouer Uplift Me. I apply it to my Artis brush and then lightly pat my cheeks going “up.”
- Mascara: My mascara that gives length + volume is part of the sale, too. You can see my before/after here.
Online Orders
- Gisou Hair Perfume: This smells INCREDIBLE and anytime I’m at my sister’s house I have to spritz a bit into my hair. I ordered it online as I didn’t see it in my store. I prefer this to the scent of dry shampoo.
- Westman Atelier: Westman Atelier has been on my list of brands to try for quite some time now, and while I’m a little unsure of a foundation match, I am going to start with the blush in “Minette.“
- Gucci Bronzer: Everyone raves about the Gucci bronzer, have you tried it? I grabbed it in shade 2.
Great products!!! ❤️✨
