Popping in today to share my gift guide for your mama, your father, your mother-in-law or any other parental figure you adore!

Next to Maxi, my parents are my favorite people to shop for. When you gift your parents, there is this beautiful moment where the tables turn and you get this opportunity to show care and appreciation the way they always have for you. I think there is also a moment for pride in your parents. It’s this moment where they get to say, “Wow, I’ve raised a really thoughtful human.” I did good. My other favorite part about gifting parents is that, there is joy no matter the gift! The price, the brand, the exact item. None of that matters when gifting your parents. It truly is one of those moments where, the thought is what counts- and I think that fact always makes me want to make it more special. We’d all give our parents the world, if we could.

This year, I’ll be gifting my parents our year Artifact Uprising book because I know they’ll want photos of Maxi, a Mizzen & Main shirt for my dad, and a Yeti for him. He always borrows ours! For my mom, I’m doing some jewelry and then I’m thinking either the Aerin Ice Bucket or the watering can! Which one do you like best?

A little personal update about my parents: My mom had another hand surgery for her RA on Monday. She’s incredibly tough—this was her fourth hand surgery in the past year and a half. Next year, she’s scheduled for a total joint replacement in her hand, and we’re honestly dreading it. During her recent surgery, her doctor told me it’ll be a 6-month recovery, and she’ll probably regret it until about 7 months post-op. It’s tough, but my mom remains so positive, far more than I could ever be. Sometimes, I wish I could take on some of her surgeries for her.

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who sent her lovely messages and comments. I read them all to her, and she was in tears—it truly made her day! Although this week has been busy driving back and forth to care for her, please know that every message has been read and appreciated more than you can imagine.

Speaking of things that brighten her day, I’ve been thinking about how meaningful small gestures can be, like sending gift vouchers online to someone going through tough times. It’s such a simple way to show you’re thinking of them and add a little light to their day, especially when they need it most.

I love hearing about your mom’s journey. My mom was diagnosed with RA when I was a toddler ( I am 29 now!) She has to have a hip replacement in the near future and we are so dreading that! It takes a strong woman to handle this disease, but being supportive of them helps more than we realize! Prayers and healing to your mom for a speedy recovery! God Bless your beautiful family!

Hi Kait! Oh this comment has me in tears! It really means so much to find others that fully understand how horrible of a disease it is. I am so sorry for your mama going through it for 27+ years! I will be praying for her hip replacement- I cannot imagine. 🙁 Thank you so much for your uplifting words!! I hope y’all have a wonderful Christmas together! xo, Katey
