What do you do on Mother’s Day? Some years we have done fancy brunches. Some years we eat cinnamon rolls at home. Some years we do a nice family dinner. I am actually unsure of our plans this year because we leave for Rosemary Beach on Friday- I can’t wait! Paul and my dad made our Mother’s Day plans so we will see, but I picked up this gorgeous pink dress knowing I’ll wear it to shower events and weddings for years to come.
As I’ve been talking about versatility more and more, today I wanted to share a little lace dress you can wear for special occasions like a Mother’s Day brunch, or a summer wedding. Having a feminine dress like this in your closet with a little sleeve and modest hem, allows you to always have an option for bridal showers, meeting your guy’s parents, and weddings. You aren’t sacrificing style thanks to the luxe pattern of lace and tulip-pink hue, but you’ve got an appropriate cut no matter the occasion.
I found this dress online while at my hair appointment {when I do MOST of my phone work ;)- texting, e-mailing, browsing!} and immediately ordered it. We shot this look in some pretty intense humidity and I was almost worried about the photos. It was one of those Texas mornings where you stepped outside and felt like you’d walked into a sauna at a spa, but not in a good way. You can’t even tell the weather was poor, which is always a sign of a good dress. Now to play off the ultra-feminine cut of this dress I bought these wedges with MAJOR detail. Look at the butterflies! It gives a sassy touch to an ultra- feminine style.
I’ve worn them in a few outfits on Instagram lately and everyone notices them before the rest of the look! ha. Now another thing to note, when I ordered these online I was a little nervous they’d be difficult to walk in. I’m the girl that takes heavy earrings off at dinner and can’t wear really fancy shoes due to comfort. These are incredibly comfortable and easy to walk in thanks to the platform base. I don’t even notice them when I’m wearing them.
Both the dress and the shoes run TTS. I’m wearing a 7 in the wedges and a 0 in the dress and I am 5’3″ if that helps for sizing comparison! The dress might even be on the generous size if you are in between sizes. I paired this look with a larger clutch that is the exact same color as the wedges to bring the entire look together.

What are your plans for Mother’s Day this weekend?! Have a fabulous start to your week!

Hi Katey!! Thank you so much for being such a wonderful presence!
I absolutely adore this dress!!! Do you happen to know where to find a similar one?? Now that it’s been 2 years this one is no longer in stock. 🙂
Thank you!! xoxo
Hi Emily!
I actually popped into Dillards to see if Gianni Binni had anything similar- there wasn’t anything I could find right now, but sometimes ASOS has great dupes. I will keep you posted!!
