By now you know I’m an accessory feign. Kristin pokes jokes, but I truly believe that unless you are bringing in Anna Wintour’s salary, accessories are the best way to make your outfit.
Full skirts and leather peplums are fun. But, they aren’t practical for every day use. Leopard shoes however, are.
Exhibit A: I have a puppy. A 4-year-old puppy. But she weighs 3 pounds, so I don’t exactly think she classifies as a “dog.”
She lives with my mom, because she somehow believes my mother’s bichon is her mother. You take Sophie (my mother’s dog) to the groomer one afternoon and Izzy (my puppy) lays by the door humming Adele and crying the whole day. So it wasn’t really an option to make her think she was an orphan by bringing her to my Dallas apartment.
But when I come home (which is like 17 times a week because I never developed that independence from family skill set) I like to take her with me. One of my best friends, Taylor and I bring her everywhere from Target to the Container Store. FYI the Target in Arlington will kick you out if you do that… Someone is jealous…
And like with a child, it’s not practical to wear a dress and YSL Pumps to parade a little puppy around town. J.Crew toothpick jeans and sweaters are the way to go. But in order to not look like I am Octomom and have no time to take care of myself I pile on the jewels. Maybe even Izzy rocks a few too…She wanted to!
Outfits like this are perfect because I’m all about comfort and hate having to change before I lay on the couch. You just take off your earrings and bracelets and can watch Law and Order SVU with pizza until your heart is full of Detective Stabler. So invest in your jewels and convince your boyfriend you need a little puppy.
What are your go-to comfort clothes, and how do you dress them up?!
