I miss the ’90s. I had a Shania Twain/Cher concert every single night after dinner and Canadian Tuxedos adorned everyone’s fridge when Christmas card season came along.
I still put on Shania Twain concerts [ask Paul what he has to sit through every time I’m bored of watching House Hunters] and I still wear a Canadian Tuxedo once a week, but you get the point.
I’m always looking for ways to amp it up, per say, and fit it in to a new season. Bring on the gingham.
I’m not one to run to gingham. Each time I walk in J.Crew I think, “Oh goodie. Now let’s move along.” But I think bits and pieces of it paired with denim is the perfect transition out of our fall/winter plaid ruts. I also love the blue tone in this vest from Catch Bliss Boutique, you can pair it with anything from all white to bright pink and it still tones it down.
If you need some new ways to change your CT uniform, here are my 3 favorites for spring!
1. Vests
Gingham options are spring’s boyfriend, but just make sure to keep some of your hair up or do a full ponytail. The collars overlapping can get a bit heavy!
2. Red Lips
When I think spring lips I gear more towards fuchsia and pink, but red is a classic just like the CT. Even with lots of jewels and a vest, it keeps the “timeless” aspect of the look a bit more in check.
3. Mini Bags
Mini bags had a moment last year, and I don’t think they are going away. I picked up this mini tote during fashion week and I love that it legitimately fits everything you need, while encompassing the “mini” structure.”
What are your favorite ways to rock your CT?!

Love that gingham vest! And that pop of red with your lip color is the perfect finishing touch.

I agree I’m all about the mini bags! I’m currently trying to justify a mini Rebecca Minkoff bag as we speak :]
This chambray looks lovely on you and I love that you added a vest. Such a pretty outfit!

I typically stay away from gingham, but I love how you styled it! I hope the mini bags stick around – they are too cute.
