I love to declutter. Give me a trash bag and a free afternoon and I’ll toss everything but my wedding band.
Naturally, because of that hobby of mine, I’m really able to see the few key pieces I always have to have in my home. And if you couldn’t tell by my over posting of them the past few years, GLAMboxes is one of them.
How did I fall in love with an acrylic box? Lemmmmme ‘splain.
When I moved to Dallas I knew no one except one other coworker and my now husband. He was working to get his CPA and my other coworker had a huge circle of friends at church, so I spent a lot of time just sitting on the couch. Combine that with one too many Homegoods gift cards I had received for graduation meant I fell in love created an unhealthy addition of decorating my apartment.
The bathroom was a difficult one because I wanted it to stay clean and sleek, but I’m a Texas girl. I had a heart attack with Blair Waldorf told Serena she had a bit too much mascara on in one episode of Gossip Girl [is there such a thing?] and I always have at least 14 lipsticks in my purse at all times. How does one organize that mess while keeping it cute?
I thought I’d pull a Kardashian and search for an acrylic box. I tried TJ Maxx, I tried The Container Store and I tried Target. Mind you, all these places have organizational tools. My debit card can attest. I tried it all. I even tried apothecary jars from Pottery Barn. But everything would break or get grimy within a few weeks. I couldn’t fit every little piece or it looked like a cluttered mess [the apothecary jars]. So I went into a black hole on instagram and came out finding GLAMboxes.
I ordered my first box, the makeup box [I have the full lid], and I became addicted. They stay so clean and I have dropped it a hundred times while it stayed perfectly in tact. I also have the jewelry organizer. I gave my mom the makeup and jewelry box for Mother’s Day and she still requests more!
Because I post this all the time and think this is the ultimate Christmas gift, I worked with them to create a discount code specifically for my followers. They are offering 30% off to JUST Chronicles of Frivolity readers as well as a free lipstick holder! And if you are in the first 20 orders, you will receive a free pink GLAMboxes travel makeup bag! They sold out but set aside 20 just for this sale. This will also come in time for Christmas! Just use code: Katey at checkout!
I can’t even begin to describe how much this means that they are doing this for my followers. This isn’t a collaboration in any way shape or form, they just always see kind comments from you all about this brand and wanted to treat you all for Christmas! So please please please tell them thank you on social media if you can!
I hope this helps you have one of my must haves in your home and allows you to feel pampered while you get ready each morning! Every girl deserves that. 🙂 I’ll also include my makeup/jewelry must haves below that you see in these photos!
P.S. I always get questions about my pink lipstick shades so here are the shades I use:
Light Pink: YSL #7
Medium Pink: YSL Rose Libertin
Dark Pink: Estee Lauder Neon Azalea
If it looks like it has a purple undertone this is what I use:
Liner: Urban Decay Bittersweet
Lipstick: Stila in Bella
are those qtips in a diptyque i spy?!! love all these pretty things!

Is this where you put your make up on? I am having a hard time getting into a groove with putting make up on in the bathroom or bedroom
Oh no! I put my makeup on in our bathroom! It’s an older home and actually has a really cute built in vanity, but I didn’t want to photograph our bathroom! haha
Does your discount have an expiration date? I tried using it at checkout, and it wasn’t going through?
Yes, it only lasted the day of the post!
I think I’m going to FINALLY pull the plug and buy both the makeup and jewelry GLAMboxes! ????I have always loved how clean and organized your GLAMbox display looks, but I have been hesitant to buy more acrylic cases.(I did the same thing, and bought a ton of Home goods and muji acrylic cases throughout the years). But, we recently moved and I would love to eliminate my jewelry amore to save space, so I’m glad I found your old post because I think the jewelry GLAMbox might be the way to go! Question though, I’m afraid it is going to be too small. Are you able too fit all your jewelry in GLAMBOX, including your delicate jewelry? I kinda wish there was a section for my wedding rings and “real” jewelry. Also, was there a reason why you didn’t buy the one with the sides on it? Any help would be great…Thanks Katey!
Hi Nicole! Yay! I’m so happy for you!! So I originally got the smaller GLAMbox with no sides because when I bought it, I was in a small apartment and didn’t have the room. I don’t have room for everything, so eventually I do want to get the super large one with the sides! That’s my project for next year! 🙂 I hope this helps! xo
