One of the most life changing [and by life changing I mean it helped reduce my get ready time by 10 minutes!] things I did was get a clothing rack. You can get them anywhere from Target to the Container Store [this is mine!].
Just like a comfort meal you always want to make, I love keeping my “comfort” clothes on the rack. And I’m not talking athleisure wear. I love to keep my favorite jeans, a go-to sweater or church dress I wear 24/7 within easy reach. They are my seasonal uniforms and allow me to not have to think when I’m getting ready quickly.
How do I know what goes on the rack? When I’m an outfit repeater. Typically, I’ll buy a top and if I wear it twice in two weeks I stick it on the rack. Last week? I wore this sweater three times.
I wore it Tuesday for a day of meetings [and to shoot this look!].
I wore it Wednesday because I thought, “Well Dallas saw me in this sweater yesterday, but that means Fort Worth hasn’t. Let me put on for good measure.”
And then I wore it Thursday for a date night. Because I mean, Paul hadn’t seen it, so that counts, right?
I almost reached for it Friday to head down to Austin and I started to question myself and knew this needed to visit the dry cleaners and not my body again.
It’s a slouchy sweater that can easily pair with leggings or jeans. I also love that the neck can be formed from anything to a turtleneck, to a cowl neck [pictured here] or an off-the-shoulder neckline! You can get one here at Chicwish. I have the S/M size and I think it would easily fit anyone from a 2-8. I’m a 2/4 and my mom is a 6/8 and she tried it on and it was perfect as well.
And speaking of comfort food, I start Whole 30 next month! If you aren’t familiar with it, you basically reset your body by giving up sugar, grains, dairy and alcohol for 30 days. You’re able to really pinpoint how your body reacts to things like sugar and what makes you feel bloated, etc.
I’m really intimidated. Not about the cheating aspect, I have fairly good willpower. But I’m really nervous about social settings. I have work dinners, I have Valentine’s Day, I have a weekend trip to Austin and I have a Happy Hour event I’m hosting for a brand. “Hi come have happy hour with me. But I can’t eat or drink anything.” haha!
But I realized there will never be 30 days that I don’t have something, so I just need to suck it up for now! I’m mostly interested to see how food affects my autoimmune disorder. I had a lot of flare ups since my wedding [I know it’s from the stress of planning] but because I hate taking medicine [I’m in my 20’s! I want my body to fix itself! haha], I want to see what foods cause reactions.
If you’ve ever done it I’d love to hear how you felt on it!
Brought to you by Chicwish. All opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that allow COF to operate full time!
That sweater!! I haven’t really seen camel paired with grey, but I love the way you’ve done it. Great outfit!

Whole 30 is a great start. Paleo has turned my autoimmune disease around completely. I also take an immune support remedy called ambertose. Good luck it’s not as hard as you think once you get past the first 3 days and you will feel great by the end.
Love the camel and gray combo – definitely going to have to try it out! I also, rewear outfits in different settings, it’s like an unwritten rule 🙂

I love that sweater on you!!! I am also intrigued by this whole 30 thing. I have food intolerances and sadly do not listen to them. So I wonder how my body will react to this whole 30. I also don’t know how good my will power is. hahaha. Love today’s post and you reassured me that I need a clothing rack!

I have RA and eat the Autoimmune Protocol Paleo. I am completing a January Whole30 to give myself a reset. I still have to take meds, but I feel better than I do when I eat everything.
I am a total outfit repeater too sometimes! It’s so easy once you find pieces that are equal parts comfy and cute! #NoShame
I’ve heard lots about Whole 30 (via some of my favorite bloggers)! I understand what you mean about sticking to it in social settings. What helps me when I’m trying to “not eat crap” is checking out restaurant menus before I go out. That way I am armed and ready to deal with the situations that I’m thrown in. Good luck!

I do the same thing with a clothing rack! It speeds along the process of getting ready without a doubt!

Guilty!! It’s so fun to get new pieces that you love so much – you have to make yourself not wear it every. single. day. haha!
I’m not a big drinker. I almost instantly get a migraine my first sip of alcohol. So if I have to be out for work or social, I get an orange juice with sprite, or just a club soda with lime in a short glass to make people think I’m drinking along 🙂 People seem to give others such a hard time for not drinking, but don’t worry! Cutting alcohol and dairy really help with weight loss also.
Another post with those Paige skinnies I’ve been dying for.. you are not good on my bank account, I want everything you wear! LOL
You should do updates on your Whole30 results cause my boyfriend and I are also trying it for February and I’d love to hear about your progress as a member of a couple! I feel your pain tho my friends and I rule over happy hour so it should be interesting…
Love that sweater! I got something similar from Revolve, but it didn’t look as cute on me.
I tried Whole 30 last year and it was great. I felt like I had more energy, slept better, and felt better overall. I dropped weight but that was just the icing on the cake. It’s hard especially week 1, but then you get into the groove and it becomes second nature 🙂 Just make sure you’re fueling your body because I was having really bad headaches because I wasn’t eating enough initially.
I tried it! ITS HARD. But I’ve never done a restricted diet like that before, so I definitely plunged into something really intense without being prepared. By day 3 I felt so so sick, and began reading articles about those who had actually started to throw up and whatnot from the change. Even though it seemed to be the norm, I felt it was too extreme and had to stop, I wish I could have stuck through it though! My aunt stuck with it and is LOVING it! So I hope you have a great experience with it! I’ve been eating clean instead, and may try again in March (my 21st birthday is February, so can’t be doing it then – ha!)
Girl, it was so hard! I threw up within the first week, and had such awful headaches. But I stuck it out. Apparently people were saying that it’s like your body going into shock during the detox.
Katey- Need, need, NEED a new makeup tutorial from you! Your makeup has been so perfect in your latest snaps!
Obsessed with the slouchiness of this sweater! <3

Such a cute sweater! Love the muted neutral hues and absolutely don’t blame you for wearing this repetitively

So funny that you posted this because I am on DAY 2!!!! hahahhaha! I love it and feel amazing already! I feel so much happier! Just stick with it!
This post made me stop feeling guilty for wearing items I love too much! I totally think the same way as you when it comes to wearing a piece that is is just super cute! And I mean let’s face it, “Lizzie McGuire was an outfit repeater and she was totally cool 😉

Love your blog! I have an autoimmune and have been off gluten and refined sugar for 2.5 years….it was hard? but I got my life back and by life… I mean I have a lot of stressors in my life and I hardly ever have flair ups vs. laying on the couch wanting to die. Ps. Only take Ibuprofen every now and then.
Whole30 tip – when you feel yucky during the first few days (I.e, lethargic and having headaches), eat more fats like avocado or macademia nuts! Both times I have done Whole30, I dreamed about carbs. Literally, I dreamed about eating a mixing bowl of cereal ??? it is crazy how much food affects everything!!!
Omg when are you going to be in Austin next month? I want to attend your event.
My family has Lyme and we have been on a restricted paleo diet for years. If you want to see how you react to certain foods after the 30 days, be sure to add them in separately, days apart. Also you may feel worse at the beginning from a detox reaction.
Sounds like I need a clothing rack! I love putting outfits together on Sunday night for the week ahead. This would really help me keep things organized and a little less cluttered. You are rocking the whole 30! Keep it up, you can do it!
